Print Design

Whether your aim is to attract new clients, increase sales, or spread information, marketing collateral is an integral part of many businesses. Brochures, postcards, and booklets just some of the types of collateral included in the umbrella of print marketing.

I’ve worked with the Aurora Theatre in Berkeley, CA to help create playbills and marketing collateral. The Aurora Theatre uses a rough template to make sure all the branding is consistent, but allows for some creativity between shows.

WestCoast Children’s Clinic is a nonprofit in Oakland, CA that provides therapy to foster youth. I’ve worked on many layout projects including their annual report, internship brochure, and internal therapeutic tools.

I’ve also worked with WestCoast’s Youth Advocacy Program (YAP), a training and development program. At YAP I developed a training aimed at teaching the youth advocates how to use InDesign to create a quarterly newsletter.

I worked for many years at the small book and game publisher Chaosium. At Chaosium I was a print and book designer, creative project manager, and art director.

The two top images to the right show Horror on the Orient Express, a boxed game set that included seven books, a die cut puzzle, fold out maps, a gamemaster screen, and other 1920s-themed ephemera.

I was the book designer, creative project manager, and art director for Horror on the Orient Express. I liaised with authors, editors, and artists. I developed art budgets, worked with printers for sourcing materials, and managed timelines.

Horror on the Orient Express won the silver medal for Best Production Values in the 2015 ENnie Awards. The ENnie awards is the annual fan-based celebration of excellence in tabletop roleplaying gaming.

The photo below shows a spread from the Call of Cthulhu Investigator’s Handbook.

I’ve worked with Canopy Floral on a few different marketing initiatives over the years. Aimed at getting folks to sign up for in-person workshops (pre-covid), the postcards and imagery are designed to highlight the beauty of floral arrangements and the joy that arranging your own bouquets and wreaths can bring.

I worked as an in-house Graphic Designer at MacPherson’s, an art supply distributor based in Emeryville, CA. The booklet to the right was created for the International Art Materials Association’s annual event: NAMTA. Because MacPherson’s had over a 20 attendees, I created a booklet to help other attendees identify MacPherson’s employees. It was aimed at helping other attendees remember the names of MacPherson’s employees, connect them with the folks at the correct department, and included fun facts about my amazing coworkers.
